It is important for the public to be aware of the issue of bullying in the fashion industry since 2014. Bullying has always been present in this cut-throat industry, filled with individuals who are often very insecure. Fashion weeks provide opportunities for misbehavior, and in my case, I experienced bullying due to external pressures.
The British Fashion Council, for some unknown reason, chose to bully me, which is a devastating experience in the midst of such a glamorous lifestyle event.
Dealing with such treatment requires a thick skin. When I first entered the fashion scene, I was excited to express my personal style. And amidst the fashion weeks, my style has certainly made an impact and garnered attention.
However, there was always a looming presence of negativity in the background.
Why Do People Bully In Fashion?

Can You Fake Your Press Invites At London Fashion Week?
London Fashion Week is a highly coveted event in the fashion industry, with press invites being a hot commodity. But, can you fake your way into this prestigious event? The answer is a resounding no. Attempting to forge press invites for London Fashion Week is not only unethical, but it can also lead to severe consequences. The organizers of the event have strict protocols in place to ensure that only legitimate press members gain access to the shows and events. These protocols include thorough verification processes, such as cross-checking with accredited media outlets and conducting background checks. Furthermore, sneaking into London Fashion Week without a genuine press invite is not only disrespectful to the designers and industry professionals, but it also undermines the integrity of the event. So, if you’re thinking about faking your press invites, think again. It’s simply not worth the risk.
In 2023, there are still unproven accusations made by staff members and PRs of the British Fashion Council regarding the authenticity of my catwalk invites and Gracie’s ownership of MenStyleFashion.com. These individuals also spread false information to other designers, claiming that Gracie had illegitimately accessed catwalks. However, it is important to note that these accusations remain unsubstantiated.

Your Hands Are Offense
Unknown to me, there had been a group forming against me personally since 2014, representing my Goliath. During London Collections: Men 2015, on a cold winter’s afternoon, I was approached by a female representative who made it clear that she was speaking on behalf of my Goliath. It was an extremely patronizing encounter and I felt like a young girl being reprimanded by a headmaster.
Those words will be etched in my memory forever, among many others. She informed me that Goliath was in the process of banning me from attending LC:M for life. One of the reasons she cited was that they found my hand gestures offensive when I speak.
This incident of bullying was directly conveyed to me by a staff member from the British Fashion Council.
I burst into tears. She just went on to take advantage of my vulnerability and explained that Goliath felt that the fashion weeks were not where I belonged. And that I should pursue other avenues. I was now shocked, sobbing, and could not speak. She went onto say that, designers & PR’s did not want me here.
You Jump On Catwalks
To provide a perspective, it is worth mentioning that a catwalk can be quite expensive, with costs reaching up to 250,000. Therefore, it is highly unlikely that any incident involving someone jumping on a catwalk would go unnoticed. Surprisingly, BFC staff member revealed to me that one of the reasons for the complaints from PR’s and Goliath was my alleged habit of jumping on catwalks during shows. I was completely shocked by this accusation. In response, I requested Goliath to provide footage of me engaging in such behavior in November 2015. However, even after almost ten years, I am still waiting for them to send the footage. I want to make it clear that I have never jumped on catwalks.
Furthermore, BFC staff informed me that Goliath had asked me to leave their premises for the day. In the presence of PRs, security, and onlookers, she escorted me out.
Very humiliating.
Escorted Again By Goliath
The following morning, I had another invited event to attend. However, upon arriving at the premises, I was greeted by security who questioned my presence. I explained that I had been invited to some presentations, but they informed me that Goliath had requested my removal from the premises and banned me from returning. The expressions on the faces of the staff representing Goliath were unforgettable. It was clear that bullies are more powerful when they stick together. Once again, I found myself alone.
To be fair, the security guard who escorted me out seemed confused and embarrassed. He apologized for having to do his job and complimented my appearance. He suggested that we walk out together as if we were friends. Outside, he shook my hand and expressed his apologies.
It was evident that the security guard understood the injustice, bullying, and abuse of power that was taking place. However, he was bound by Goliath’s instructions and had no choice but to act accordingly.
Fortunately, my makeup looked good that day.
Vengeance Is God
I departed in tears, deeply moved by his kindness, which only reinforced the fact that Goliath would consistently target me whenever I was alone. In January 2015, I left LC:M feeling highly upset, confused, and angry, as I couldn’t fathom why this Goliath was determined to tarnish my reputation. It was a classic scenario of David versus Goliath.
Recognizing the gravity of the situation, I knew I had to approach it with careful strategy. Resolving this matter would require significant time, thorough research, and unwavering courage.
Nelson Mandela once said that education is the most powerful weapon for changing the world. Through this experience, I also learned that courage isn’t the absence of fear, but rather the ability to triumph over it. A brave individual isn’t someone who never feels afraid, but someone who conquers that fear. It may seem impossible until it’s accomplished.
