Sandra Murray MBE, the leading couturier based in the Scottish Highland is one talented Designer. Imagine the affirmation you would receive, if you were asked to design a dress for Queen Elizabeth?
Sandra was commissioned to dress the Queen for the opening of the Scottish parliament in 1999. Coming out very soon is the new book – Elizabeth: Reigning in Style – an intimate look at HM the Queen’s wardrobe during her reign published as part of the Jubilee celebrations. Sandra’s dress was so adored by the Queen and the public, that THE DRESS, is one of only two dating from the 1990s to be selected for the book.
Sandra has just launched an online shop which besides her dresses also include a new range of accessories.
Radio programmes
Sandra also is a regular presenter on BBC Radio Alba. Sandra will be taking part in a new 26 part series of 15-minute interviews discussing fashion-related topics. Sandra will touch on topics such as places or events that have inspired, informed and influenced her own development as a fashion designer.
Scottish actress Ashley Jensen introduces Scotland Inspired, an ambitious exploration of the arts world in Scotland through a wide range of contemporary Scottish artists, writers and musicians. The radio programmes transmit every Tuesday starting from 1 May 2012, at 1.45 pm on BBC Radio Scotland.

What better way to learn about couture than from the couturier herself? A Sandra Murray Masterclass provides a fascinating insight into the inspiration and inventiveness of this unique artist. At the same time, each one touches on how to identify your own particular style. Taking place in her studio, the masterclasses are 3-hour afternoon sessions.
