Sandra Murray
Who’d have thought such fusions of cloth such as tweed, tartan or wool could look so opulent? Are you looking for traditional Scottish fabrics that represents chic, modern design? Fret no more as Sandra Murray has now launched an online shop, that will take your breath away. You know when its well adored when the likes of Ivanka Trump and Miss Scotland are wearing it?
The accessories – designed to complement and echo Sandra’s existing couture collection. The accessories range from hand finished silk chiffon scarves in vivid prints to luxurious hand appliquéd cashmere and tulle stoles. Handbags and clutch bags in rich velvets, suede and satin also form part of the collection. Prices start from £85.
The stunning range of scarves and stoles on offer include a deluxe Scottish cashmere wrap in striking fuchsia and mandarin, inspired by one of Sandra’s couture designs – the Balmoral trench coat. Tartan has never looked so chic. The collections are truly masterpieces.
The wrap comes as a duo, with a second layer of French tulle and lace. Another star of the collection is a large, hand appliqued ecru stole, conceived as a bridal accessory, christening shawl or evening wrap. The handstitched stole comes in luxurious Scottish cashmere with a layer of embroidered French tulle. The packaging produced exclusively for Sandra’s accessories is fabulous.
The online store will soon also offer a range of calf leather gloves, and specially commissioned kilt pins and brooches created in collaboration with leading Scottish jeweller Hamilton & Inches.
Sandra Murray also offers a styling and bespoke couture service, particularly aimed at those in the performing arts – opera singers, pianists, soloists and musicians – who need statement pieces for large venues.
From ball gowns to frock coats to entire weddings, Sandra sees bespoke as an intimate three-way relationship between herself, the client and the creations that emerge. At the same time she offers a concierge service, aimed particularly at people in the performing arts who require statement pieces to reflect another facet of their skill and virtuosity.
Murray states: “ I’m delighted to be launching this range of accessories online. I don’t sell through high street stores; I like to maintain control over the quality of the products and so none are mass produced – in fact many are created as limited editions. Using a web-based retail outlet makes my accessories – a key area of my collection – much more accessible, both in the UK and internationally.”
