Big Eyes

The key to 60s mod makeup is all in the eyes – line your lids with a matte beige (or white if you’re feeling brave) eyeshadow, add a pair of false lashes and finish with a slick of eyeliner, which should be winged at the tips. To enhance this look you can add individual lashes to your lower lash line or a volume-building mascara to separate and add extreme length. White eyeliner added to the inside of your eye will make your eyes look even bigger too.

Defined Brows

Brows should be bold and defined so either using a pencil or shadow fill in your brows and square of the inside corners keeping a high arch towards the middle. Finish with a coat of clear mascara to prevent your brows from running down your face! If you need eyebrows try microblading.

Bright or Nude?

If you’re going for a traditional 60s mod makeup look then keep your lips matte and nude beige lips with bold eyes are very Twiggy! If you can’t resist a bit of colour then add a pop of pink, orange or red to your lips instead. This is a great wedding colour too.

Beehive Hair

60s hairstyles were either androgynous and short or big and teased. If you have short hair then wear it in a side parting and sleek. If it’s mid-length or long then either wear with long eye-skimming bangs (fringe) or teased, backcombed and sprayed into a perfect beehive.
