Tuscany can be very wet so waterproof boots are a top priority for me. It is important to keep my feet dry.
As a mother of two, it is important my girls hike my journey when it comes to Alta Moda. Teaching them that mums can do luxury and mothers must make that time pamper and gift back to their artisan’s soul. But I am now fifty so traction when I am walking and stability to give me ankle support is essential for a safe trip.

Red is everywhere in Italy when I walk in Tuscany. It is why I chose the colour red. These GO Red Hiking Boots gives me access to the olives, grapes, countryside or poppies with ease.
Carbon Footprint Conscious
All the hardware is Made In Italy and is only 15km from the factory, which means the carbon footprint is very low. For me this makes me love the boot more as I am supporting an eco-friendly company. The workers live very near to the factory it’s a win, win on the sustainability front.
This hiking boot is made in real deer leather, known for being soft and elastic. All leather comes from Tuscany. Leather lasts a lifetime regarding shoe ware.
How many of us have walked in shoes that end up destroying our feet?
The padded collar in nappa leather gives maximum comfort to my ankles and prevents them from getting blisters.
XL Extralight Sole
The Extralight sole in expanded rubber is hand-stitched to the upper using Goodyear Norwegian construction. This innovative sole material sets itself apart with its low weight and excellent shock-absorbing qualities. It protects the back and legs from strain and impact during the working day.
XL EXTRALIGHT is three times lighter than any other material with the same physical and mechanical properties. It also provides a better surface grip than standard EVA soles, keeping my feet steady on the ground and reducing your risk of slipping.
On this occasion, I chose not to use a Vibram sole.
Goodyear Norwegian construction makes the sole completely waterproof because the stitching isolates the feet from the outer sole. The leather insole including the wool absorbs humidity as the feet are walking on leather, not on rubber.
The expanded rubber sole absorbs the hits while you walk. This combination in the sole construction makes my feet feel light and comfortable the whole day. I walked Venice for 15km a day, in varies shoes. My back always ached because of the jarring of the ancient footpaths.

Made To Order
Due to the wool inside of the boot, my feet are warm. When ordering, these boots run a bit small, I recommend choosing one size bigger than your usual Borgioli size. It is important with these lightweight hiking boots that I am very comfortable in them.
As I walk the streets of Venice or Rome I want to make sure they absorb these wonderful city walks. if you are serious about teaming up with other hikers it would be a brilliant way to test out the overall durability of the boot.
Cobblestones in Italy can be very harsh on your feet. So with these red hiking boots I know I can always be on the GO!
