I grew up in an Italian family so gold is was what we wore. Whether it was for an Italian celebration amongst our families my aunties and mum would bring back the latest gold collection from Italy to Australia and we would wear it at school. Looking back I was taught at a very young age the power of wearing gold, yellow 18K gold only. This was rare to find in Australia when I was a child. So I wore nothing else for years, 18Kgold was in my DNA. As I have gotten older, I decided to explore other metals and I am currently in Bali and have noticed a new love for metal, copper, bronze, and anything gold plated and silver. So I want to share with you some of my purchases and also showcase them in the very environment I bought them in. I am also showing you how to take photo’s that will entice people to buy into these affordable pieces. With my social media platforms, more and more companies are working with me. I love my shots I took through my Luxury Week Bali Resorts.
Onyx
My new love for Onyx, is all about versatile jewelry and how it can just complete an everyday look. Onyx, a banded variety of the oxide mineral chalcedony. Agate and onyx are both varieties of layered chalcedony that differ only in the form of the bands: agate has curved bands and onyx has parallel bands.
Big Hands Chunky Rings
My father had what we call gorilla fingers. Everyone knew him for his massive hands. Therefore I have inherited his hands to a certain degree, my fingers and hands for my size are huge. So anything that is chunky, long or odd in size, my fingers can showcase it well. I am a lover of fresh water pearls and here in Bali, they come from the island of Lombok. In Bali the way they design fresh water pearls combined with silver is very unique and I just love them. I like to wear different and some what very odd jewelry. This ring is silver a common pearl they use here, is called mother of pearl and love how it has been created in this setting.
I like to wear different and some what very odd jewelry. I noticed a jewelry shop in Semiyak and from the outside it looked like what I call junk jewelry, nothing special. It is a shop that creates everything out of three metals, copper, brass and metal. I spotted this ring and just fell in love. I have been wearing it, here in Bali and even the Balinese are asking me where did I purchase it from.
Silver & Gold Plated
Now growing up in where everything was 18K gold it was hard for me to buy things gold plated or rose gold effect. I spotted these rings, that are inspired by recycled metals that we are familiar with. On this occasion, using broken watch pieces and combining an impressive rose gold-tone and stainless steel, is a perfect for large fingers and everything chunky.
Silver With Gem Stones
Here in Bali I have noticed they use a lot of stones set in silver. They really know how to present the stone in a modern way. No matter how small the shop here is in Bali the staff seem to know what they are selling. Indonesia have rich natural resources. There are some amazing stones from different kind, such as agatized fossil coral, chrysocolla, ammonites, petrified wood, lavender calchedony, agate, jasper and a newly found chrysophrase in Sulawesi island. These beautiful gemstones combined with the creations of unique pieces are accessories that become uniquely you.
Dragonfly
I never buy pieces like this, but where I am sitting right now regarding my life and growing my brands. These pieces really spoke to me regarding not given up on my quest. The combination is gorgeous and looks elegant on me. It is silver and the design is called dragon fly combined with gem stone.
If you’re out in Bali then I hope I have inspired you to seek out unique jewelry, where you can wear them on any occasion all year round. I will show you how next month, during my luxury week lifestyle and fashion event. How these pieces can look fabulously chic, in the world of luxury and fashion shows. It does take time to find these hidden gems but it is very much part of the fun.
