Today I am in Italy Tuscany living a life of luxury during a full lockdown. I feel guilty for those that are cooped up in small confined places staring at brick walls.
I know the feeling and stress as I too was in full lockdown for 11weeks in a tiny flat without outdoor space. It was not good for my mental health, but I got through.
This lockdown is only for a season so don’t let small spaces get you into a depression.
It’s not by chance I am here. I knew winter lockdown would come. So I made the sacrifices to be able to be staying in this Tuscan paradise.
I have been living here for eight months. Have a look at my video of where I live and the classic cars I drove.
GO RED Hiking Boot
Tuscany can get very cold and wet. So I created my GO Red Hiking Boot to fit the lifestyle and hiking terrain. Waterproof boots, comfort for my heels, and warmth to my feet were so important not to get the flu.
Make The Changes
It was physically and mentally tough to decide to sell and go to Italy during the pandemic. As fear set in thanks to our leaders.
I thank God for my adventurous spirit and to conquer things when in fear,
Don’t let the mainstream media allow you to live in fear.
I listened to my gut instinct acted, push through like someone treading in the mud. Making sure my fear did not get in the way of the bigger picture.
I needed to find a place for the second lockdown and it took three months. I never gave up I was determined to make sure my family and I had access to a large outdoor space.
Being flexible when moving and compromise regarding the interior of your home.
I am sipping on a coffee looking at this picturesque view which looks like a painting. I can’t stop thanking God for this find. Tuscany Lucca is just full of colours and endless nature.
Nature Is Nurturing To My Soul
I have never appreciated nature as I am doing now. Having all the time in the world to discover God’s creation. Each passing hour I can’t believe where I am and how it has mentally and physically healed me. Let God guide you.
As I walk in my clogs I am overwhelmed by leaves
The burnt orange trees are just immense combined with the view I am truly in the right place to cope.
The richness in colours and the endless views are amazing.
Colour Inspiration
The sky is so blue and at night the sky so clear, I can see mars. The richness of colour inspiration here is the perfect artist’s dream.
I pray all the time for the changes in this unknown world right now. It’s a big reset for sure but not sure what is coming? This new path is unsettling for us all.
Make sure you connect with positive friends and watch what you read.
Make use of your time and turn this lockdown into a new skill Learn something new, no matter how small it is.
Mental Health Exercise
The pressure is a privilege for us all and one has to recognise how to live each day as it comes. Live in the moment is how I am coping.
Read and memorise quotes to strengthen your mind. Talk to people that encourage you to make the necessary changes to survive this pandemic. Fight for your mental freedom.
Don’t let depression get the best of you.
Unlock the doors by doing mind games to encourage you to steer from fear and anxiety.
Life Gives You Lemons
I have access to so many lemons and during a pandemic natural resources are good for you. Try to access nature as much as you can.
Lemons contain a high amount of vitamin C, soluble fiber, and plant compounds that give them a number of health benefits. Lemons may aid weight loss and reduce your risk of heart disease, anemia, kidney stones, digestive issues, and cancer.
I throw as much plastic away in my Villa and make sure I am connected to so much nature and it’s so easy to access here in Tuscany Italy.
Pyracantha (from Greek pyr “fire” and akanthos “thorn”, hence firethorn) is a genus of large, thorny evergreen shrubs in the family Rosaceae, with common names firethorn or pyracantha.
Choose To Live
It comes down to you to act upon making the changes to survive this Covid 19. I am doing all that I can to make sure my inner peace and mental health are in order. I took a leap of faith and am having the best time of my life here in Tuscany.
It’s never too late to move or change the path you are currently in.
