Pavilion

I’ve been to Kuala Lumpur many times in the last ten years. My first shopping stop before I go anywhere else is always the Pavilion. Located at the centre of the uber-trendy Bukit Bintang district, it’s 1.37 million square feet are compromised of three major components: a retail mall, an office block and two residential towers. Locals and tourists alike say it is the trendiest shopping mall in the city.

I was there just before Christmas and the Pavilion is very famous for it’s all-inclusive Christmas decorations with the mall featuring gigantic pine trees, Santas ateliers, big baubles and heaps of gifts. It is probably the most decorative Christmas store I have ever been to.

There are about 450 stores at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur including a number of upscale outlets such as Prada, Hugo Boss, Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo, Burberry and Ermenegildo Zegna. The anchor tenants include Parkson Department Store, Tangs Department Store, Mercato Supermarket and Golden Screen Cinemas. Other tenants at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur include Harvey Norman, Times Bookshop, Bebe, and others.

I enjoy browsing at Tangs and Parkson Department Store. There is also an amazing nail boutique on the top floor that I highly recommend you book yourself into if bling-bling nails are your thing.

The food department is extensive and delicious, you must try a bit of everything, my favourite is the Teppanyaki restaurant, Yummy. Oh, and I only discovered the Japanese section right on the top floor, the food is spectacular.
