Meli Melo
Whilst browsing about the stores at London Fashion Week 2012 I was instantly attracted to this gorgeous array of handbags. On closer inspection, I could instantly identify the quality finish and attention to detail these bags had. In 2004, Meli’ Melo’ bags were launched and named after the designer. Melissa de Bono chose this name because it is her nickname that means tangled hair in French and Spanish.
The company’s dedication to bringing stylish yet practical and versatile pieces to the table led her to design The BonBon Bag, the ultimate day-to-night style. Wear it while running errands and making quick shopping trips. When night falls, undouble the chain strap and wear it across the body! Melissa is going to create another BB version called the travel bag using different linings and style techniques.
Her clever approach to design and quality have quickly made her bags ‘must-haves’ among celebrities and everyday bag lovers alike. Olivia Palermo, Kate Middleton and Siena Miller all own her bags. A nice touch to the collection is that your children can own a handbag or cute Gilet to fit this girly image. You can never start too young and you can never have too many bags.
